Bengaluru, 18 September
Stryker, a global leader in medical technologies, has announced the expansion of its R&D presence in India with the opening of a new facility in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
The new facility has come up at 140,000 sq ft space in Bengaluru and will add to company’s existing 220,000 sq ft R&D campus in Gurgaon. The new facility will further strengthen Stryker’s footprint in the country.
The new Bengaluru facility has cross-functional teams and industry-leading lab infrastructure, next-generation capabilities in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), digital innovation and product security, the company said in a release.
“We are growing with purpose – expanding our capabilities to innovate, collaborate and deliver solutions that address the needs of our customers and patients worldwide,” said Ram Rangarajan, Vice President at Stryker Global Technology Center.
“The advanced labs will allow us to work closely with healthcare professionals, unlock valuable insights, and accelerate innovation. With a strong focus on Digital and AI technologies, our new, state-of-the-art facility is designed to attract top talent, foster excellence, and drive sustained growth – all while remaining true to our mission of making healthcare better,” he added.
India is home to around 1,750 GCCs (Global Capability Centres), representing around 17 per cent of global GCC ecosystem. Multiple global companies are expanding their footprints in India with expansion of existing centres or setting up new one in other cities.
